<p>Apple today released Mac OS X 10.6.4, the fourth maintenance update for  Snow Leopard, via Software Update. The update offers a number of fixes  implemented since the release of Mac OS X 10.6.3 in late  March.<em> </em></p>
<p><em>The 10.6.4 Update is recommended for all  users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard. It includes Safari 5 and general  operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and  security of your Mac, including fixes that:</em></p>

According to the <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4131" target="_blank">support  document</a> for the release, the updates address a single  vulnerability related to handling of embedded fonts by Apple Type  Services.  Discovery of the vulnerability is credited to noted  cybersecurity researcher Charlie Miller, who last month disclosed his discovery of 20 new zero-day holes in Mac OS X.</p>

<p>The Leopard versions posted to Apple&#8217;s site incorporate previous  security updates, explaining their large file size relative to the Snow  Leopard version.</p>
<p>Apple also released <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1032" target="_blank">Server  Admin Tools 10.6.3</a>, an update to Apple&#8217;s package for installing  remote administration tools to non-server machines.  The update delivers  <a href="http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3931" target="_blank">16  documented improvements</a> to several of the package&#8217;s components.</p>

Apple today released iTunes 9.1 via Software Update and the company&#8217;s <a href="http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/">iTunes  download page</a>.  The update brings several enhancements  such as support for iPad syncing including eBook content and greater  customizability of Genius Mixes.</p>
<p>iTunes 9.1 comes with  several new features and improvements, including:</p>
<p>- Sync with iPad to enjoy your favorite music, movies, TV shows, books  and more on the go</p>
<p>- Organize and sync books you&#8217;ve downloaded from iBooks on iPad or added  to your iTunes library</p>
<p>- Rename, rearrange, or remove Genius Mixes</p>
<p>Apple&#8217;s iPad is scheduled  to launch in the U.S. this Saturday, with the iBooks application and  iBookstore expected to go live there at approximately the same time.<br />

<li>Stability improvements for 3rd-party plug-ins</li>
<li>Stability improvements for websites with online forms and Scalable Vector Graphics</li>
<li>Fixes an issue that prevented Safari from changing settings on some Linksys routers</li>
<li>Fixes an issue that prevented some iWork.com users from commenting on documents</li>
